A very inspired anthem song-writing by Guy Sebastian and Gary Pinto. Guy sings it together with Paulini Curuenavuli. It is a beautiful touching tribute to the World Youth Day 2008, Sydney, Australia, July 15-20, 2008. Shine Jesus shine, let Your glory envelopes the Earth, mold us, melt us, empower us, and use us as a channel of Your Love, amen!
Special Note:
As I was finishing up to get this blog ready, including getting the title and the domain name down, I stumbled into this song and how miraculous the way Holy Spirit fits the pieces together. Praise God! After being given the task from Above to grow an Indonesian Catholic blog “Obrolan Warung Surgawi” (translated freely: Chit-chat of Cafe Heaven), taking this blog on was a major undertaking for me. There were some resistance and doubts in my mind and from my surroundings. I pushed on knowing what my mission in life is.
The day this site was ready, was the same day I found the song. When I pondered upon the words “Receive the Power to be a light unto the world!”, God reminded me of the blog title, “Beacons of Light.” Yes, this blog is, but more importantly, we are the actual beacons called to carry His Light unto the world. Through this song, God confirmed and nodded that this is the track I need to run on. Yes Lord, I am ready to fly even higher with You!

Receive the Power
Every nation, every tribe,
come together to worship You.
In Your presence we delight,
we will follow to the ends of the earth.
Alleluia! Alleluia!
Receive the Power, from the Holy Spirit!
Alleluia! Alleluia!
Receive the Power to be a light unto the world!
As Your Spirit calls to rise
we will answer and do Your Will.
We’ll forever testify
of Your mercy and unfailing love.
Alleluia! Alleluia!
Receive the Power, from the Holy Spirit!
Alleluia! Alleluia!
Receive the Power to be a light unto the world!
Lamb of God, we worship You,
Holy One, we worship You,
Bread of Life, we worship You,
Emmanuel, we worship You.
Lamb of God, we worship You,
Holy One, we worship You,
Bread of Life, we worship You,
Emmanuel, we will sing forever.
Alleluia! Alleluia!
Receive the Power, from the Holy Spirit!
Alleluia! Alleluia!
Receive the Power to be a light unto the world!

What is World Youth Day?
World Youth Day is the Catholic Church's week of events for youth and with youth. It gathers thousands of young people from around the world to celebrate and learn about the Catholic faith and to build bridges of friendship and hope between continents, peoples and cultures.
I am not a Catholic - can I still take part?
World Youth Day is an invitation from the Pope to all the youth of the world without discrimination. While World Youth Day celebrates the Catholic faith, its message is relevant to all people and all are welcome. Many non-Catholic Christians and others have taken part in previous WYDs.
