Passing Down the Authority

Every Christian knows that we have to submit to the Authority of Christ. But where does that authority resides in the world today?
The same authority Jesus set upon the Church He built on Peter (Mat 16:18).

After Jesus ascended to Heaven, the Apostles replaced the office of Judas by choosing Matthias (Acts 1:20). None of them questioned this decision. Every Apostle knows that the office they held was bigger than them and not just meant for them personally, but for the service, preservation, and growth of Christ’s Church. And their offices would continue after their death. Hence, this is called "Apostolic Succession."

I remember when I was at elementary school; it was always a chore to remember any list of Presidents, world’s important dates, conferences, or any kind of list out there. But, there is one list I always get excited about whenever I glance at it. And that is the list of Peter’s successors:
